FOREIGN POLICY AND NIGERIA'S EXTERNAL AFFAIRS MINISTERS:
In theory and in practice, Africa has always been the primary focus of
Nigeria’s foreign policy. History and the political realities of colonial
and post-colonial Africa dictated much of this trend. In other words,
African-nationalism and Pan-Africanism were two of the factors that helped
shaped the thinking, the disposition and implementation of the country’s
national security and foreign policy agenda. In spite of the occasional call
for a rethink, there has been no noticeable change in Nigeria’s foreign
policy protuberance. And even though the formal colonization of the
continent has ended, the Cold War as we knew it is over, and Communism has
collapsed, Nigeria has not be been proactive and forward-thinking in her
approach to national security and foreign policy issues. Nigeria, it seems,
is trapped in time..

"My position then as now and back up with at least some evidence is that
President Obama came in pursuit of American national strategic self
interests.". He maintained that New oil fields discovered in Ghana
brought Obama and would have mattered not at all had they conducted the

an oil behemoth from Texas. It has outflanked other oil giants and has
captured what is known as the Jubilee fields which have about 1.2 billion

closed its bids on July 17th, 2009, exactly one week after Obama left? The

The United
States of America goes to the polls today. Without the certainty of results,
it is now in the hands of Almighty God and the American voter. Of course if
it were left to the citizens of the world, Barack Obama would already have
been elected by a landslide. In fact so certain has been the faith of some
people in the certainty of an Obama victory that an Irish betting
organization started paying out winnings on October 15th (about
three weeks before the actual election) to those who had placed a bet on
Obama.
